CZW Pro Wrestling Academy F.A.Q.
1. What is the CZW Wrestle Academy?
- The premier wrestling school in the Northeast. At the Academy, you learn everything you need to know about the wrestling business, both in and out of the ring. From the most basic of in-ring fundamentals, match psychology, locker room etiquette, microphone/promo skills to character and brand development. We cover everything from Lucha Libre, to amateur mat wrestling to the Ultraviolent, and everything in between. We’ll also teach you about the business side of the wrestling industry, a necessity as you proceed with your career.
2. Who are the head trainers at the CZW Academy?
- The curriculum and program is supervised by John Zandig himself. The full-time head trainers at the CZW Academy are DJ Hyde and Jon Dahmer. Most nights, there will be additional guest trainers from the CZW roster down at the school to assist with the training. You will be in a position to learn from a number of veterans of the business who are committed to helping and seeing you succeed in the Combat Zone.
3. Where is the school, and how often are the classes?
- The CZW Academy is located within the New Alhambra Arena, formerly known as the ECW Arena. There is no better place to train than the New Alhambra, one of the most historic wrestling venues in the world, and home to the promotions and wrestlers that changed the face of wrestling forever. Training is held every week, on both MONDAY and THURSDAY nights from 6:30PM-10PM.
4. Why the CZW Academy?
- Combat Zone Wrestling is one of the top promotions in the world. Our DVD’s and television programming are viewed by millions of fans all over the world. CZW is a great place to launch your career, and gain the exposure you’ll need to progress in the wrestling industry. Through our extensive connections and partnerships within the business, you will have the opportunity to work both within the Combat Zone and in promotions across the country, and potentially the world. In addition, CZW will provide you with unique opportunities outside of the wrestling ring, like the recent inclusion of CZW students in “The Wrestler” movie.
5. How much is it going to cost me to attend the CZW Wrestling Academy?
- Tryouts are always free. However, if you decide to become a full time student you will be required to pay a one-time enrollment fee, plus a monthly tuition. The enrollment fee is $300 dollars, and must be paid at the beginning of your training. The monthly tuition is $150, due at the beginning of every month and due for the first year of your training. After you have completed your first year, you are no longer required to pay a monthly tuition and may train for free. There is a discount if you wish you to pay your entire tuition up front.
6. How long does training take?
- Each person progresses at a different rate depending on a number of factors. The best wrestlers are always in training. The trainers will provide continuous feedback. If and when they feel you are ready, you will earn the opportunity to perform in front of a live crowd.
7. Can anybody train?
- Unfortunately… no. There are some requirements. You must be 18 years of age, OR have written parental consent to tryout and train. Those under the age of 18 will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Our tryouts aren’t easy, you will need to prove that you are in good enough physical condition to partake in our training program. And as mentioned above, TRYOUTS are FREE… to schedule yours, contact ACADEMY@CZWRESTLING.COM today.
